opsi - in production use since 10 years - provides a tool for remotely installing operating systems, deploying software and inventorying hard- and software. While it is based on a Linux server its primary targets are Windows work stations.

An opsi quickstart

The best way to experience the opsi feeling of a complete remote installation tool is to make use of the fully working opsi server VMware appliance together with a virtual or real test client. Follow the instructions in the opsi-depotserver installation manual.

Additional information

There is an extensively used support forum, and a freshly started english support forum, both hosted with opsi.org.

The opsi sources can as well be found with sourceforge, meanwhile most of them in the svn repository.

Commercial support is available with uib in english or in german.
